The Climbing Wall Award (CWA) is the National Governing Body Award qualifying people to supervise climbing activities on purpose built artificial climbing walls and boulders.
The Award Scheme is relevant to teachers, youth workers, instructors and coaches who want to work with individuals and groups in climbing walls. If this sounds like something you would be interested in then please get in touch. We run regular CWA courses in Devon and other locations.
Contact us now to book your place or simply to find out more! If you would like to do one of these courses but the dates don’t fit your diary, let us know, we may well be able to organise another that works for you.
- You do need to have a strong interest in climbing but you do not have to be a superb, high grade climber to undertake this award
- Whilst the award covers you for supervising climbing on indoor and outside climbing walls, it does not qualify you to work with people on crags and cliffs
- There are a number of stages to the Award Scheme but these are achievable by most climbers who are committed to the process (just check out Nik Royale’s CWA experience!)
- It does not cost loads of money!
